What makes the House different?

Picture
Restoration, Not Judgment
Many people have been hurt by the church.  Rather than being loved as they were, many have been told they need to fix their lives before coming to Jesus.  The problem with that is that's not what the Bible says.  It's the Holy Spirit's job to clean up our lives when we come to Christ, not ours.  Trying to fix it ourselves is not righteousness, its self-righteousness and Jesus had some pretty harsh words for the Pharisees about being self-righteous.  We choose to love and lead people to the ONE who can heal the sin in their hearts.

Excellence in worship and programming
God deserves our very best.  He doesn't deserve to be worshipped with our left over effort.  We will strive to be well prepared to do everything the Lord calls us to do as a church.  This means studying hard, practicing hard, planning well, and being on time.  We will start promptly when we say we will.  Please be early so that you don't miss all that the Spirit might want to teach you.

Authenticity in teaching and preaching
The Word of God is powerful, sharper than any two edged sword.  It, and it alone, is able to see and change hearts.  We don't rely on clever tricks, emotional manipulation, shouting just for the purpose of shouting, or twisting the Word and taking advantage of people's vulnerability.  We preach and teach and allow the Word to cut and heal.  The House is not like most churches you've been to.  Give church a second chance.

Humility
Everyone is equal at the House.  There is no one who is more or less important.  There are no special seats, special honors, or special people.  We are all sinners in need of a Savior.  This includes the Senior Pastor.  We will worship as one, teach as one, pray as one, learn as one, serve as one, clean toilets and stack chairs as one.  The only one on a throne at the House is Jesus.
