Missionary testimonies about the kids ministry at the House Church
In Uganda, I learned many things about my desire to pursue missions. Such as patience, joy, love, and that a simple smile and hug for a child can go a long way. The smiling was so easy because of the wonderful people that I got to work with and seeing them living God's calling for their lives each and every day. The children would light up the world with their smiles when they saw me coming as if I was wanted and had a bag full of gifts. And in a way I did, I had something they wanted. I had the hope of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I got to spend a lot of time with these beautiful children both where they lived and at church. My eyes would fill with tears seeing how they had to struggle to get out of the bed each day not knowing if it would be a day they could eat, or even be their last day. Crime and Prostitution were rampant in this area and all over Uganda. All just for something to eat that week if not two or three weeks.
One Sunday we had beautiful weather and were going to church. The weather is a big deal because in bad weather most people couldn't come to church. I was so excited because I asked to speak to the children of the House Church! I read them the story of Jesus getting left behind for a whole day from his parents when he was just a little boy. I had help from Jackson because I spoke too fast sometimes l. After the story, I asked questions to see if they understood the message and also to get them comfortable speaking with me. Some had great questions about the story as well as their personal lives. One questions struck my heart when I heard it asked. I knew it happened but didn't grasp it till I heard it. This little girl looked with a gloomy look and softly said, "if I believe in Jesus, and He has saved me, why do I still suffer so much?" I had the bible answer for how we are all sinners and deserve nothing but that our rewards would come when we get to be with Jesus in heaven. She said she understood but still was greatly disappointed. So I said that we have to be joyful and live like Jesus wants us to and how he loves all the children of the world. Also, I said He will never leave you nor forsake you. So when you feel sad, alone, and without hope. Pray to Jesus to help you and He will. That turned things around and we closed with a prayer.
God showed me so much through these children. I left Uganda and felt like I was leaving part of my family behind. It captured my heart to serve and love on everyone there. The Benjamin House staff and the people that I served really served me and I couldn't be more grateful! I can't wait to be with them again someday and see how God is working in their lives. My prayers are always with my family in Uganda. I love you all!

Kids are precious and need to be adequately protected. We have a child check-in/out system to ensure that only the parents or their designated care giver can pick up a child from our care. |
KidsFun opens kids up to hear the Truth
Kids will have a blast at the House. Our care givers and teachers will do all they can to make children feel welcome, loved, and make sure they enjoy their time at church. This basis of fun prepares their hearts for a long future serving the Lord and His church. |
