Our Leadership

Leadership at The House is based on the Biblical model.  We want to honor Christ with how we lead.

Our Team of Pastor & Elders

Our pastor/elder team has responsibility for spiritual nurturing, leadership, accountability, and vision for the community of believers at The House.  Ultimate spiritual authority rests with Christ alone, and this team is charged with seeking His direction for this local church.  Pastor/Elders are chosen by 100% consensus of the current Pastor/Elders.  Unless there is an abuse of the office or they become spiritually disqualified, they are appointed in perpetuity, or until the Lord calls them to another church.

1 Timothy 3:1–7 (paraphrase): “Whoever wants to be a pastor/elder desires a noble task. Now the shepherd is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?) He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited. He must also have a good reputation with outsiders.”

Our Team of Ministers

Our team of ministers has responsibility for directing various ministry areas within the church.  They are appointed by and accountable to the Pastor/Elders.  Their primary role is to help each ministry area fulfill the Great Commission, empower believers to do the work of the ministry, and support the overall mission and vision of the church.

 Ephesians 4. (paraphrase):
“
So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Our Team of Deacons

Our deacon team has responsibility for servanthood within the church.  Deacons are lead servants.  They are chosen annually, to serve a 3 year term.  Men are nominated by the church body, a slate of candidates needed for the next year is chosen from those nominees by the Pastor/Elders, and the church body confirms that appointment by majority vote.  They then enter into a time of testing, as Scripture requires, (this time frame is one year for us at the House) and then begin their 3 year term of service.
We will begin nomination process in early 2017 for our deacon team
 1 Timothy 3. 8-13 (paraphrase):
Deacons are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons. In the same way, the women are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything. A deacon must be faithful to his wife and must manage his children and his household well. Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.
